TAYLOR IXIARGUERITE PARRISH Vice-President Clzgplgm LILLIE INIAE EDWARDS Treasurer The Lucy Holmes Society, organized in honor of Mrs. Lucy Holmes, the wife of the founder of Holmes Bible College, is in its 27th year of progress, with the special purpose of building Character and promoting fellowship among the girls. When the Greenville Weather permits, they enjoy picnics on Paris mountain, with a special program and games. A delightful time of fellowship is enjoyed at the Christmas and Easter seasons, with pro- grams enlivened by the humor of girls from all sections of the country. A period of devotion is held at each meeting. This year the girls have as a special project the makinggof a quilt to be given to Aunt Nina for the guest room on her birthday. Its functions consist of monthly meetings which give the boys a few minutes respite from their studies. The main business of these meetings is .to prepare for the outings which carry them to the invigorating air and playgrounds of Paris Mountain in the State Park. When an after- noon has been spent in strenuous muscular and vocal exercises, the Forum assembles to partake of appetizing meals which have been prepared by the Forum cooks. Immediately following the feast, gr program is ushered in that causes all cares to be forgotten. Amid devotional readings and talks, special songs, prayer, impromptu speeches, and acts, one finds both edification and enjoy- ment. Another high light of the Forum is the annual Christmas program. It is featured by special Christmas music, talks, and plays. These activities prove to be of great help in obtaining their objective.
