Janice Stewart i Lee Wiggins Carl served as president ofthe sopho- more, junior, and senior classes. He was a member of Key Club for 3 years and was secretary as a junior. He was a member of ICC for 2 years as well as Quill and Scroll. Carl parti- cipated in J.V. basketball, two years of varsity track. and one season of varsity football. He was also sports editor of the Hill Hi-Point for 2 years. Cindy, l970's Miss Hollywood Hills. was in Student Council for 3 years and National Honor Society for 2. She was captain ofj.v. cheerleaders. treasurer of varsity cheerleaders. and copy editor for Epic in her senior year. Cindy won the outstanding history student award and was selected to represent HHH in the South Florida Dairy Council's Salute to Youthl' program. Janice was active in the National Honor Society, Student Council, and Human Relations Committee for 3 years and chairman of HRC in her senior year. Janice was a member of Civinettes for 2 years and a member ofthe newspaper staff in her last year at Hills. Janice was also a Jordan Marsh Teen Board model for l970 and was chosen an Outstanding Teenager of' Americaf' Lee was a member ofthe advanced marching band and concert band for 3 years. He was also a member ofthe HRC and cross-country and track teams. In his community, Lee was a Sunday School teacher and partici- pated on panel discussions on WRBD radio. E I Bob Smith Laura Winer lol 57? 7 ' 'il' ..: ss '--- .--' -' .Q L . Steve Yellin Laurie was a member of NHS for 3 years and a member of Anchor club during her sophomore and junior years. She was Anchor historian in llth grade and class treasurer. She belonged to the HRC as a senior and was a stan' member of the Gentle Revolution. Laurie received the I969 geometry award, the 1970 Spanish IV award and was chosen as a l970 Ca- lendar Girl. She was chosen as Most Intellectual in the senior superla- tives. Laurie participated in the 1970-7l Vista Tutorial Program. Bob's 2 years at HHH were full of accomplishments. He was a junior and senior class rep, a member of Key Club, and National Honor So- ciety and participated in 2 years of varsity track. In llth grade. Bob played King Henry VIII in A Man for All Seasons. and in 12th grade, he served as Student Council presi- dent. Bob was selected to the WQAM Hall of Fame and he received an Outstanding Teenager of America Award. As a senior. Laura held the ofiices of president of National Honor Society, treasurer of senior class, parliamenta- rian of Wheelettes. and representative to Inter-Club Council. In her junior year, she was also a member of these organizations. As a sophomore. Laura won the 'lOustanding Student in Russian award. She played a lead role in the Drama Club's production of Auntie Mamef' Steve came to Hills in his junior year. During that year, he became' a mem- ber of National Honor Society, played a lead role in A Man for All Seasons, and won the top English Award. He was a finalist in the dis- Lrict tennnis championship and was selected to the All-City team. Steve was a senior class rep, vice president of Drama Club. and one of the first male cheerleaders at HHH. As cap- tain ol' the tennis team, Steve led them to a state championship. He was all-county and all-city and ranked number I tennis player in Florida.

These seniors were chosen for their Lee was the nrst Hollywood Hills High student to be a National Merit Scholarship finalist. He was the trea- surer ofthe National Honor Society in his senior year and on the advisory board of Student Council. Lee ap- peared in the plays Auntie Mame and Inherit the Wind. In recogni- tion of his academic achievements, Lee was selected to Who's Who Among American High School Stu- dents and Outstanding Teenagers of America. Doreatha was secretary of the sopho- more class and in that year was also a member of the Modern Dance Club. In her junior year she was a member of the International Club, junior class representative, vice-president of a Jr. Achievement Company and recipient of a JA plaque. As a senior she was Student Council parliamentarian, a member of Gentle Revolution staff. NHS and HRC: she was also a class rep. recipient of JA Achievement Scholarship, president of a JA com- pany, and Top Teen Girl for the city of Hollywood. John was a member ot' the National Honor Society for 3 years and also participated on the football and track teams during that time. He was named to the All-City and 2nd All-Conference football teams. He was also selected as the outstanding oiTensive back and team captain for 1970-71. John received the chemistry award in llth grade and was a recip- ient of the National Bausch and Lomb Science Award. He was also a senior class rep and on the Student Council advisory board. Christian served as president of the Latin Club for 2 years and was on the Gentle Revolution stali' for 2 years, sewing as co- and lay-out edi- tors. He was a member of Student Council for 3 years. He was inducted into NHS in his senior year. Christian participated in 3 seasons of track, and he appeared in 'KA Man for All Sea- sons and Auntie Mamef' He was also a member of the Order of De- Molay for 4 years. Y Lee Branscome I Doreatha Jackson I John McNamee t Christian Miller Wayne served associate editor of the yearbook before becoming editor ot' Epic in his senior year. He was a member of Student Council 3 years. Wayne was Homecoming chairman, president of Quill and Scroll, a mem- ber of National Honor Society, and a top teen nominee. In l0th grade. Marianne was a volun- teer at Sun Dial School. She won an essay contest sponsored by Channel l0 and appeared on TV. In llth grade, she was a member of the school newspaper, the Hills Hi-Point, and Quill and Scroll. She also won the DAR's award for a speech on freedom. As a senior, she became edi- tor of the school newspaper and was also a tutor at Bethune Elementary School. Maxine was a member of Anchor Club for 3 years and served as presi- dent in her senior year. She was a member of the National Honor So- ciety, Quill and Scroll, and ICC. Maxie was a member of the newspaper and literary magazine staffs in her junior and seniors years, sewing as editor of Gentle Revolution in her last year at Hills. She won the advanced English award as a sophomore and a Sorop- timist Award. Jayne has been a member of Civi- nettes for 3 years and served as presi- dent during her senior year. She has been a Student Council representa- tive and a member of the girls tennis team for 3 years and has also been a member ofthe Homecoming Court since her sophomore year. She has won various art awards and helped design our official school crest.
