Registration To be tapped for service on the Registration Committee in the Spring or Fall, or for membership in the Camerhons, Knights or Key Club is one of the greatest honors that can come to a student at Hollywood, for it represents recognition of an out- standing record in scholarship., citizen- ship and service to the school. Camerhons is the Girls' Honor-serv- ice organization and is sponsored by Miss Standfast and Mrs. Berenson. The Knights organization, for boys, is sponsored by Dr. Crawford and Mr. Maryott. Key Club, a national organ- ization for high school boys, is spon- sored by the Kiwanis Club, the Holly- wood chapter being under the guid- ance of Dr. Weeks. Registration committee, 0 i n t l y sponsored by Miss Standfast and Dr. Crawford, is a carefully selected group of boys and girls who assist the ad- ministrators and faculty at the begin- ning of each semester in the compli- cated-and often hectic-process of registering and enrolling students in their classes.

In Journalism I, student reporters cover news assignments and learn the elements of proofreading, page layout, head- lines and advertising. In Advanced Journalism, the emphasis is on feature and editorial writing. The third semester of Beginning Staff, Fall Semester. Row I: Tijana Iltch, Karen Iversen, Alan Levine, Bill Mafcon, Kathy Sugino, Ed Laboufitzg Row 2: Kay Lucich, Elaine Leia, Dennis Brody, Iohn Conoverg Row 3: Tony Polito, Hector Esquiro, Art Patterson, Mike Becker, 24 journalism, known as Executive News Staff, gives students the actual responsibility for putting out the HHS News. The Spring Semester saw the Journalism Department ini- tiate a series of noon forums, among the speakers being Dr. Vierling Kersey. Hollywood chapter of Quill and Scroll has, each semester, sponsored a Meet the Press assembly for the entire school. Speakers have included Mr. Dan Moore, editor of the Student Outlookf published by the Los Angeles Times, and Mr. Bill Stout, noted TV newscaster and a Holly- wood alumnus.
