I , Charlotte Holley, Signal Drum Major Lucius Churchill, Baritone Solo Ray Landreth, Cornet Solo Curt Ayers, Drum Solo tended numerous clinics and has always made the top band there. He has won a total of ten medals, all but one given for individual performance. He is winner, for three years in a row, of the most outstanding band U l member award. This year he is winner of the National Dewm Christy' Tenor Saxophone Solo Arion Foundation Award as well as the most outstand- ing band member award. He has participated in the Mississippi Lions All-State Band for the past three years, and last year sat solo chair and has hopes of repeating that again this year. He has won superior at state solo contests and was student conductor for two years. 4 -4. These pictured are our beginner class for this past year and most of them played a vital part in the band s fine performance at the state band festival this year and will play a vital role in Miami at the American Legion National Convention next October The band went to the National American Legion convention parade in Min neapolis last summer, where they led the parade and escorted Miss America.
