The senrors of our dear old hrgh Have to school davs sard good by As I gaze rn the mrrror I realrze that ten years have passed srnce my h1gh school graduatlon Expectrng to see my own reflectron I Instead see the faces of my former classmates I see them not as I remember but as they appear rn the year 1970 Catchrng my eye IS a popular name band Thetr red headed leader seems to be turn1ng now to take a bow Who else could II be but Mrke Snuffy Smrth But who 15 th1s cute d1sh comrng on stage She seems to be qurte a srnger Why of course rt IS Peggy Ak1ns The show berng over I seemed to move w1th the crowd toward the CXII Once outstde I recogntzed the fam1l1ar face of a former Holly H1 cutre Iackre Slayden He told me of hrs success w1th th1s nrght club wrdely known as Jack s Iotnt Irnmedtately I not1ced a large brllboard to one Slde of the entrance announcrng the comrng attractron of Ray Landreth and h1s Trumpeteers My I remember so well how hard he worked at band rn hrgh school Everyone knew II would certarnly pay off But now as I look back 1nto the mrrror the scene changes I see a summer resort and the owners Mr and Mrs Irmmy Krmery seem to be very busy makrng plans for the comrng summer The1r two chrldren hmmy Ir and Connre seem to be taktng an actrve part rn the bu1ld1ng of a new sand prle for the play yard Down the road I see a large truck comrng w1th a load of lumber As rt comes to halt Nancy IS g1v1ng rnstructrons for IIS unload1ng and 15 also sendrng her best regards to Bobby Campbell the manager of Ih1S large lumber company Once more the mrrror has changed scenes Who IS that workrng so furrously over those papers? Why II 15 Dott1e Smrth who has become qurte a successful ed1tor1al1st and IS now trymg to wr1te an artrcle tellmg of the wonderful work Robbre Sm1th rs do rng at the h1gh school cafeterra as the d1et1t1an At the school I see several of the 60 classmembers who couldn t stay away from the1r Alma Mater very long Lyd1a Puder IS the much recommended teacher of the German language JoAnn Hurdle 1S the beloved Busrness Educatron teacher And now as I go 1n the gym I see Edw1n Street coachrng h1s vrctorrous basketball team for the year 1970 Edw1n s superb coachrng ab1l1ty has led h1S boys on to w1nn1ng the state champronshrp Headrng down to the new football stadrum I see S P Crockett teachrng some of the jumor hrgh boys TOUCH football Yes s1r S P IS really do1ng a great Job rn teach 1ng thrs sport' The Sen1ors are now havrng a meetrng to drscuss where to go on the1r sen1or tr1p Selwyn Greer who IS now an a1rl1ne stewardess 1S talktng to them on the advantages of fly1ng I now seem to be walktng down the arsle of a lovely theater owned and operated by August K1perts The large crowd 15 due to the style show now tn progress whrch 15 sponsored by MISS Jane Warren s dress shop Who IS the lovely model rece1v1ng that large applause? It IS none other than Ellen Parnell one of New York Crty s popular models On my program I see lrsted as the harr stylrst Edna Scott the owner of a cham of beauty salons over the South And oh yes m1rror what has become of Donny M1tchell'?
