Baseball gg 'Row l: Lett to right: Gerald Hunter, Wilbur Hillman, Earl Garner, Skip Conklin, Robert Wiand, Jack Davis, Richard Moritz. Row 2: Dave Huber, Jack Felch, Melvin McKeachie, Jack Gmelich, Bill Wagoner, Tom Stack, Mr. Protz. This should be a successful season for Reese Protz's baseball team with nine lettermen returning from the team which took second place in the Wayne-Oakland league last year. The varsity men will be challenged by several sophomores returned with more experience and some good freshman prospects. Except for second base the team shapes up pretty much the same as last year. Still needed at this writing is some depth in the all important pitching department. Seniors finishing their high school baseball careers will be .lack Gmelich, Melvin McKeachie, and Bill Wagoner. Good luck, FRIENDLY PLAYHOUSE and THE DRYERS

This year's Holly track team will be aiming for another season as successful as that turned in by last year's hard running tracksters. One member of the team, Jim Madar, took first place laurels. in the half mile at the state track meet. Although six members of last year's squad graduated, this should be another big year for Holly trackmen. Seniors Ed Mayers, Jim Blumenschein, Jim Minock, Stan Young, Bob Kelly, Jerry Samuel, Don Dumas, Bill Kramer, and Ray Brendel, head the strong outfit. Track coach Aubuchon has 'several good sophomore prospects eligible for competition for the first time. The Broncho track men will point toward the defense of their Wayne-Oakland league title in May at Ypsilanti and the Regional Meet usually held at Flint. Lots of success, MARY AND WILT. SHUTTLEWORTH
