WINTER TRACK This year's Winter Track team should be congratulated for its dedication and effort. For many of the team members, this was the first year they had run. Coach Korcoulis was pleased With his young team for running as well as it did . Four Saturday morning meets and the Class I State meet made up the season. The meets were held at the UNH field house Track in Durham where the team competed against three other class S, M, or I teams each Satur- day. As the season progressed, the point total and overall times got better. Four membersg Don Fusco, Bob Chorney, Drew Harris, and Bruce McDuffee went to the State meet on February 5 . For a four man team, they did well with a sixth place in the relay and a sixth place in the 600 yard run by Don Fusco . BASKETBALL GIRLS The LV, basketball team this year was a terrific success due to the high competitiveness of the players and the determination of our coach, Sandra Baby. Our record was 12 wins and 3 losses. We had an exceptionally good season and We finished first in our league. It takes great dedication, effort, and courage for a player to get out onto the court and play good basketball. Each player must have the desire to Win and confidence, not only in her team, but also in herself. Confidence is oh so vital. Our coach, Mrs. Morse, did a brillant job in teaching the players her skills. She taught us not only the basics, but slso how to work as a team, and how to put everything together in a game situation. Our record proves what a great job she did. The LV. basketball team will be losing 5 players next year: Captains, Tracy Auer and Elaine Fontana, Janice Kempton, Nancy Lubinsky, and Tracy Wood. Returning will be: Mary Benoit, Joy Garrity, Corky Hall, Valerie Hall, Tammy Kecy, Carolyn Kungulus and Jeanie Zandi. Our managers: Cindy Cook, Priscilla Luce, and janet Sheldon. . im, 01.6 45 fif is A ws 4 I ,B 0 Nd J J.V. BASKETBALL ...,,. Like any long awaited goal our ideas about what this year would be like and the actual reality were very different. For many different reasons our expectations were not quite realized and we were forced to deal with a reality we never expected. And we had many varied reactions to this, our Senior year, at Hollis Area High School . . . What's the big deal? It's just another year. I was ready for my senior year. I ve been Waiting for it since Iwas a Freshman. Many decisions need to be made and now you, yourself are responsible for them. After 12 years I think that everybody is ready. This year is not that much different than any other year. It's not that I wasn't ready for my senior year, but that I'm not ready for my life. I definitely was ready for my senior year. I consider myself lucky to be getting out of here before things get worse. I had planned to have my senior year be the fullest and most memorable year in high school. There were changes both good and bad, but I have overlooked the bad points and I am just enjoying . . . ll ll 106 F 9 an-Q. 1-was HI' l , V+ ww W, 5 IN MEMORY OF HARLAND MUZZEY We wish to dedicate this page of the Yearbook of 1977 to Harland Muzzey, Muzz, our devoted bus driver who died February 12, 1977. Muzz grew up and lived in Hollis all his life. His involvement with the high school is unforgettable. He drove the school bus on regular routes, field trips, and sports events and acted as special policeman for many school functions. We will remember his smile, his humor, his lifesavers, and most of all, the love he shared with the young lives he touched. 108 --A..- Adams, S. 40,85,88,94 Albertini, P. 25 Allen, S. 14,22 Amaya, C. 7 Anderson, S. 9 Archambault, A. 17, 19,85 Arnold, P. 19 Arsenault, W. 8 Auer, Terry 17, 18, 22,62,74, 75,78 Auer, Tracy 14, 22,76,77 Austin, B. 9 Austin, S. 19 --B-- Baker, L 14 Baldwin, D. 18 Ballou, A. 40,55 Ballou, M. 14,15 Bancroft, L. 19 Baum, M. 19,29 Bearegard, B. 14 Beers, R. 8,62 Belanger, N. 29,41 Benjamin, D. 16, 17, 19 Benoit, M. 9,76 Bent, L. 8 Bent, T. 15 Bingham, C. 9 Birch, Carol 8,21,22,62,80,95 Birch, Craig 70 Booily, M. 8 Boyer, J. 16,19,62,92 Brede, L. 9 Bremer, G. 14,79 Bremer, R. 38,85,94 107 Brickley, B. 8 Brickley, C. 8 Brickley, N. 14 Bridges, J. 9 Brigham, C. 18,19,62,82,85, 97,98 Brigham, F. 41,54,62,70,88 Bristol, J. 19 Brown, C. 14,62,97,98 Brown, G . 45 Brown,J. 35,41,60,87,89,91, 94 Buclmam, B. 46,54,62,87 Bull, A. 92 Bull, K. 93 Bunce, J. 9 Bunker, L. 62 Burns, B. 42,55,107 --C.... Someone told me to hang on tight and as I come through this production experience I understand fully the meaning and necessity of these words of wisdom. This has been a truly singular experience--one that will surely never be erased from the grooves of memory. When one wonders about the limits of the human mind, body, and spirit and then one is luckyf?j enough to test those limits with a small very special group of faithful workers, then one never has to wonder about those limits again. They are infinite. And what makes them so is the power of mind's joined together. I am ever thankful to those who shared this experience with me. For without you I never would have learned all the valuable lessons that came from the 1977 edition of Excalibur. B.
