My head is spinning, my lungs feel like they are ready to buist, my legs feel . . . well, actually they don't feel any-more. I 'm running in a cross- country race with 90 other masocists. Ever since 30 minutes before the race started I've been asking myself why I do such stupid things. Up ahead I see a blur yelling at me. As I get closer I hear him yell, Hadago Morty, start to work. Although this figure seems to have a tail, a pair of horns, and a pitch fork, I realize' that it must be Coach. I toy with the idea of stopping and telling him to go jump in a lake, but I continue running. Finally I cross the finish line and collapse. A few minutes later I look up and see Coach dancing gleefullyitoward me. I see the smile on his face and I know we have just won another State Meet. The season is over and it's time for another cross-country party. A broad smile reflects my thoughts. 1st place Winnisquam 3rd place Conval Invitational 1st place Winnisquam 2nd place Manchester 1st place Bishop Guertin 2nd place Hollis Invitational 2nd place Manchester 1st place Conval 1st place Kearsage 1st place Bishop Guertin 1st place State Meet E.. ' Pataki L M, The runners racked up another one for Hollis High. First place ' in the State Meet came Hollis' way November 3rd 1973. Con- ' lif'. Q . p gratulations guys it's a job well done.
