M. C . Escher Puddle MR. JOHN MCLA UGHLIN Reiteration is momentary. . . ' While remembrance is everlasting DEDIC ATION A teacher's true worth cannot always be measured, But a teacher's ability to relate to his students, His concern and thoughtfulness for those around him, Is likely to be most remembered. We feel that john McLaughlin is one of these teachers. ln his five years at Hollis, john has shown himself to be 1 Both a friend and a teacher, on the soccer field and in the classroom. There is no doubt in our minds that he will be remembered. Therefore, the Senior class of 1974 hopes that through this Dedication we can convey to Mr. McLaughlin some of our Appreciation for the friendship he has shown so many of us. 3 4 Editors' Note 'Q KV YZ 'Q-ew ES' FU.: 'VS its mp- 33 '52 '55 f- EZ 3552 '10-Ill-I Q5 s-55 sz So P-U mm 2.5- P42 N Q. I 'm running in a cross- country race with 90 other masocists. Ever since 30 minutes before the race started I've been asking myself why I do such stupid things. Up ahead I see a blur yelling at me. As I get closer I hear him yell, Hadago Morty, start to work. Although this figure seems to have a tail, a pair of horns, and a pitch fork, I realize' that it must be Coach. I toy with the idea of stopping and telling him to go jump in a lake, but I continue running. Finally I cross the finish line and collapse. A few minutes later I look up and see Coach dancing gleefullyitoward me. I see the smile on his face and I know we have just won another State Meet. The season is over and it's time for another cross-country party. A broad smile reflects my thoughts. 1st place Winnisquam 3rd place Conval Invitational 1st place Winnisquam 2nd place Manchester 1st place Bishop Guertin 2nd place Hollis Invitational 2nd place Manchester 1st place Conval 1st place Kearsage 1st place Bishop Guertin 1st place State Meet E.. Despite their tough finish the team's superb play during the regular season, going four- teen games undefeated, must be proof enough that this year's team is really number one. Ahnost without exception everyone of Hollis' adversaries fell vic- tim to the girls' potent offense and tight defense. The team Won many games in the first half allowing the bench its own playing time Second half. De- spite the loss of 'i fine seniors this year, the te am should continue to dom- inate girls basketball in New Hampshire in the future. This year's team, coached by Mr. Chuck Twitchell, who did an out- standing job with the team, consists of Kathy Drisko, Anne Dyer, Carolynn Luce, Joyce Wrightg' Gaye Bickmore, Katie Alford, Molly O'Shaughnessy. Coach Korcoulis' sacrifices and dedication, which has previously paid off for the Cross Country and Spring Track teams, has again proven valuable to the Winter Track team. This year's team includes Vaughn Taylor, Dave Marshall, john Gyro Spaulding, Tim Ballard, Brian Spence, Rusty Price, Mark Creighton, Mark Russell, Chuck Sipe, Steve Mazur, Dan Wadleigh, Mark LaVergne, Bob Mazur, Chuck Hogan, and Robert'Chorney.
