Carl Sandburg, in his poem Sky- scraperf', says it is the men and women, boys and girls, who give the building a soul of dreams, and thoughts, and mem- ories. Each parent, teacher, and student contributes to that soul and brings about a thing we call school spirit. We have tried, on these pages, to give each of you thoughtful and happy memories of the year, 1967-1968. 4 J rf sf sh f ff 3 A, '1 if s A A ! N If 6 . . 6 X 4 gf n 2 kg Sa J fi ,W gr 41 :L K! Football was only one of Gary's many interests. The coaches could depend on him for such things as weightlifting, track, and baseball. Whatever he undertook, be- came a thing of high purpose for Gary. Since Mr. Holliday High is elected by the student body, it is easy to see that Gary was a friend to all. RUNNER-UP Bill Finnell 58 CINDY SNYDER One winter morning Cindy walked into our hallways, bringing to us her 'continuous smile and charming personality. During her three years in H. I-l.S. she added something unique to our classes and displayed dependability, energy, and en- thusiasm for our many activities. These characteristics won for her such honors as Band Sweetheart, Friendliest, Wittiest, and Best All Around. We are proud to have her as our Miss Holliday High. RUNNER-UP Linda Ayres CN. Students took two weeks from their regular English class work to pick out, revise, and practice reading poems, plays, stories, and speeches that the class had previously written. These were read, either by the author, or by another student who recognized and presented the author. The banquet was attended by ap- proximately one hundred parents and friends who were highly entertained by these original compositions, as well as by the musical selections given by the class.
