csenzbrs DIANA GULLEY BRENDA WALTERS JOY HHINDON CSUPAX 0122 OFQS ROBERT AYERS GARY PRICE FREDDIE DAUME BARBARA DUNN Q The 1967 EAGLE is dedicated to im- provement in scholarship as a worthy aim of each student attending Holliday High School. In the rush of many school activities it becomes increasingly difficult and with a few people, seemingly unpopular to do assignments well. It is also difficult for the teacher to hold high the torch of learning, yet each of us knows that the world of tomorrow must be led by those who have made the most of preparation and sour1d thinking, rather than by self- centered, rabble- rousing groups who would put forth as little real effort as possible.

Through the EAGLE we hope to retain a history of the 1966- 1967 school year. It is impossible to capture the special moments of each student, but we have attempted to picture the highlights of learning, sports. and activities that will make up memories to last a lifetime. Life at Holliday High School can be compared to a wheel with the hub as the center of learning, but a hub alone does not constitute a wheel, for it must have its other components before it can serve a useful purpose. Each phase of school life is symbolized by the spokes of the wheel. We now designate the sixteen spokes as follows: Parents who give encouragement and support for all our activities. The administration which constantly watches over our many needs. Teachers who guide the wheel down the pathway of learning. The student council who represents our student body so well. Our marvelous band which has added so much to school occasions. FHA which offers several activities to girls in the field of homemaking Social activities which includes banquets, parties, and trips. Free textbooks and the opportunity to learn according to our abilities New teaching aids that offer us greater insight in special fields. lnterscholastic League with its many facets of learning and competition Sports that keep us sound in body and firm in human relations. Building custodians who improve the appearance of our surroundings Our well-equipped library and capable librarian. Bus drivers who get us home safely each day, and drive us to other events Cafeteria helpers who prepare and serve meals from day to day. The chance to learn how to be good citizens of tomorrow. These spokes are all encircled by the rim that represents the year '67, Now let us follow the path of student life and activities during that wonderful year--- Editor, Assistant Editor, EMM

fbeogcafe We would not condemn sports, clubs or other social activities as a desirable part of school life, but we point with pride to those students who manage some- how to excel in studies while also taking part in many extra-curricular activities. All of the students who do this cannot be pictured here, but we commend them for their contribution to our school. The students pictured on these pages have won scholastic letters by ranking at the top in their classes, yet they have each been leaders in music, sports, class activities or clubs. We heartily congratu- late them! unzbrs CHARLES BARNES KATHY HOLLIMAN CHARLES BULLER x7I'QS,6Il2 Q12 LINDA GULLEY KHNINETH MURRAH NANCY BOWLES
