Mrs. Thornton, you have helped us many times with library assignments, and your art work has been a source of pleasure to us on many occasions. The scrapbook of our activities which you have kept through the years indicates a sincere interest in the students of Hol- liday, and our first Future Teachers Association with you as sponsor has been a complete success. We salute youl I 1' Lift Mrs. Slover, we know you are a wonderful teacher because we were once in your first grade class. Our love and respect for you has not di- minished, now that we are older. The faculty has recognized you by naming you Teacher of the Year and the people of our community have often praised you for your ability to guide and in- struct the youngest of our students. 2 5:44 The pages of this 1962 Eagle were planned and edited by the group pictured above. They have spent many ex- tra hours doing this because they hoped to please other students and the people of the community with the re- sults. Their work has shown that they were capable of accepting responsibility and that they were willing to give more than is required of the usual student. Any teacher who has lost faith in the modern teenager has only to sponsor a yearbook to regain it. l have truly ap- preciated the work of each staff member. Staff Sponsor, Ethel R. Fisher Rickey Welch, an outstanding sophomore, was our best salesman for 1962. We do not know the secret of his suc- cess, but each staff member has a different guess.
