P I LEADERS CLUB Newly estabhshed m the Gnrls phy ed department thns year was the Leaders Club The members of thrs organnzanon are mvlted to jonn the club by the gxrls physrcal edu canon teacher who chooses them accordmg to thenr leadershnp athleuc abrlnry and other trants The dunes of the members are to assrst wxth elementary physncal educatxon classes and help rn any way to further the gnrls athlenc program CHEERLEADING There are two cheerleadmg squads one squad to cheer for the Varsxty sports and the other for the jumor Varsxty sports Anyone from grades 9 12 can try out but only ten are chosen They are chosen by teachers and a cheerleader wno has graduated Practrce ns held three nmes a week Durmg these sessnons old cheers are perfected and new ones are developed GIRLS ATH LETIC ASSOCIATION The Gxrls Athletlc ASSOCIZIIOD IS organnzed wnth the supervnslon of the gnrls physr cal educanon teacher The dunes of thns orgamzanon are to strlve for a better athletrc program and to sponsor and help those already establrshed Sellmg sweat shrrts and sponsormg a bowlrng playday are two of the projects undertaken thls year -48- L y E A D E R S
