INTRAMURALS NTRAMURALS un Holle Central are a system of nnterclass competrtuon Thus guves the students who do not engage un unterscho astrc sports a chance to compete wuth other teams The untramurals are for both boys and gurls and are played durung the noonhour and the enghth peruod The students who play nn these sports range from the fourth grade through the senuor class There us a wade selectuon of sports and the teams are made up of volunteers The partncnpants have thenr chouce of football or soccer un the fall basketball volleyball badmmton or table tennus un the wunter and softball or tennus un the sprung The age groups are duvuded unto three sectuons the fourth through suxth grades whuch play from l2 30 vi x to l O0 grades seven through nune whrch play between 12 00 and I2 30 and the sophomore lunuors and senuors who engage un competutuon durung the eughth peruod There are regularly scheduled games and the boys and gxrls alternate durung the noonhour SOCCER URING the fall of l95l Holley Central played another season of soccer It was not a very good season as the statlstucs wull show but some of the unexperuenced players say that It was better than they had expected Most of the games were played agaunst teams wuth far more experuence or wuth schools whose mann sport un the fall of the year ns soccer Holley had a record of l wm l tue and 7 losses Most of these games were very close Actually there were only three games whuch were run aways for opposung teams The scores W omung Holley Holley Bergen Kendall Holley ' 2 Holley Brrghton Holley Alexander A Bergen Holley Holley Kendall elm Q Alexander Holley GIRLS ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION HE G A A consusts of gurls from grades ten through twelve who are unterested un sports At the begunnung of the school year offucers are elected under the supervlsuon of Muss Rosalyn Whute e offucers choose suffucuent scorekeepers referees and umpnres for the untramural program Meetungs are held twuce a month and at thus tume plans are made for playdays that take place at Holley or at other schools Many acquauntances are made and games are played dependung on the season of the year FOOTBALL HE fall of l95l saw the Holley Central football team funush accordung to the coach and players a successful season From what the bays say they nmproved on offense and defense learned many new thnngs and also had plenty of fun The season ended wuth Holley havung a record of 2 wuns agaunst 5 losses and scorlng l86 pounts agaunst 262 for opposung teams The two games that we won were at Holley agaunst Alexander and Alden Kuck off and punt re turns were the maun factors un those games but passung and runnung were also spotl ughted as In every N- game of the season 2 The J V s had a successful season by wunnmg both of their games and by playung very good football GIRLS INTRAMURALS HE Gurls Intramural program us duvuded unto two sectnons uunuor hugh and senuor hugh I unuor hugh consusts of grades seven through nune and senuor hugh consusts of grades ten through twe ve The gurls can take part un basketball soccer volleyball or baseball They cre played durung the noonhour from twelve to twelve thurty At the end of the year certufucates and letters are gnven to those who earn a requured number of pounts 55 . . - - l - jx: L .1 i 0 . . a . .I - I I Q .I - U c V 3 P ' . . f : 1 ' I. .
