enior Cfaad .Mdforg 4f I 3 ew 'J-x X x On September 3, l9'+6, nineteen green and noisy freshmen followed one another up the stairs of Hollandale High School to mark the beginning of their high school careers Among them were Robert Anderson, Alice Anderson, Wilbert Blaser, Mona Burns Mickey Darrow, Neil Gilbertson, Billy Hoffman, Sammy James, Sammy Hughes, Lois Klosterman, Wilma Marty, B111 Nelson, Claire Olson, Walter Reynolds, Louise Runden, Carl Schneider, Robert Severson, Walker Skaife, and Florence Walstad The new teachers this year were Mr Bausman, Miss Saether and Mrs Holzer The freshmen were all weak in the knees for the first ten days of school because initiation was scheduled for Friday, the 13th All survived the ordeal, however, and after performing their stunts, they enjoyed an evening of dancing and eating af? 129 Q 'gi-9 'f s 7 31+ Y qc, 3- O 7 ' - 9 O Q N If . S J cbt 1 mi U0 Class officers for the year were Lois Klosterman President, Mona Burns, Vice President, and Sammy James Secretary Treasurer Mona and Lois were elected cheer leaders Our class advisor was Miss Saether Robert Severson, Carl Schneider, and Mona Burns went out for forensics, with Carl going on to the district meet Alice Anderson dropped out during the year, making the class an even eighteen in number On September 8, l9l+'7 the group returned to Hollandale High School to begin their sophomore year, minus Claire Olson and Sammy Hughes who transferred to Blanchardville, and Florence Walstad who dropped out During the year Lois Klosterman was again elected President of the class, while Robert Severson was chosen Vice President and Neil Gilbertson, Secretary Treasurer The teachers this year were Mr Lefler, Mr O'Hearn and Miss Bassett Mr O'Hearn was our class advisor Carl Schneider was the only one who went out for forensics The contest was held in Blanchardville, but Carl was sick the day of the contest so he couldn't compete Lois and Mona were also cheerleaders this year Mona Burns, Bob Severson, and Neil Gilbertson took part in the league contest play, I'm a Fool The play was presented in Argyle, but failed to win 8 .Y 1 : , i . . , O Wilma Marty moved to Barneveld. 2Sxx'L n ,., P5 'Q
