In Memory I Have a Friend Around the corner I have a friend In this great city that has no end. Yet days go by and weeks rush on, And before I know it a year has gone And I never see my old friends face For life is a swift and terrible race. . Aaron K. Rotach March 8, 1961-March 1, 1976 Autumn Autumn is not just a word. Autumn is the southbound bird. It's not a phrase that people say But is the smell of fresh cut hay. Itis the dancing of leaves to the ground Leaves of crimson, gold and brown That make a carpet for the ground It's the time of crisp cool air The time for all the sleeping bear. Autumn is the type of thing That makes me want to sing Of the blessings that God does bring. Autumn is the time to say That winter's near and on the way.
