Dedication Controversy over the Vietnam War has led many Americans, living comfortably in their home- land, to express concern with this tragic political situation. But for us, the members of the Senior Class of 1967, this crisis becomes too real as we more and more become aware that very soon some of us will be viewing this situation from the rice paddles of Southeast Asia. Some of us, from necessity, must remain at home. Still, the reality of this war will be ever present. Those we love are there-those we know as classmates are there-and because we are Americans, we must all be there in actual presence or in patriotic conviction. ln a struggle that we must win, it becomes impossible for any of us to remain on the sidelines. The school bus we leave on in June may soon become a military transport. Some of us will be trading our football gear for a green uniform and a camouflaged helmet. The classroom will become a flight-deck training area, the gym class bruises, deeper and more savage wounds. lt's all too real, too close. Therefore, to show our support and recognition of their noble service, the Senior Class of 1967 proudly dedicates The 1967 Hollander to the United States Armed Forces now serving in Vietnam.
