Mathematics Department Overcomes Mr. Swank watches as Joyce Van Fleet works on a geometrical construction Holland High mathematics department has overcome some impossible hurdles, at least it seemed that way to the math students. This year there were more students taking math courses than ever before in the history of H. H. S. This kept the math teachers busy. Some of the math courses that offered students a great challenge were Solid Geometry, Advanced Alge- bra, Trigonometry and Geometry. Practical Knowledge Gained Participating Bob Parks, Dave Hollenbach, Brian Dykstra, Paul Lucas, and Charles Riters discuss a project for Science Seminar. gl ICO Under the outstanding leadership of our teachers, the student who was willing to work found that there was no limit to the science he could learn. Up-to-date text books provided him with much information, although each student owns only one text book he found that in the library there were many books waiting to be used. Eagerly the student looked forward to the laboratory period, because one never knew what would happen, But lets not forget those term papers that climaxed the years work.
