Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent a new nation conceived in liberty . . . through the studying of social studies we are learning the importance of the preserving of liberty among ourselves and other nations. The underlying purpose of Social Studies is to acquaint us with the previous world problems. While Mr. Damson strives to acquaint us with U, S. history, Miss Lampen works hard at teaching us the problems of other nations. Students Find English Stimulating Course ln English V there are mixed emotions and expressions regis- tered on the faces ln the English department, all the teachers were busy and kept their students twice as busy. ln sophomore Eng- lish classes, grammar and oral English kept the sopho- mores on their toes and prepared them for iunior Eng- lish. The iunior classes studied American literary figures such as Masters, Johnson, Frost, and many others. Though no English is required in the senior year, many of the college-bound seniors accepted the challenge offered by English literature and drama, and composition.
