Students Challenged by Classwork Students learn their grammar as Mr. Chard reads an example to be answered later by them. ln spite of the crowded conditions at Hol- land High this year, we again have had a good year of learning in the fields of sci- ence, social studies, English, music, and all of the other classes that make Holland High the school it is. We, as students, can be proud of the high standards and fine tradi- tions set up by our administration and faculty. 'F'-. They soon found that poster making, campaigning, lectures, class sessions, noisy, hectic party Caucuses, and even a few hours sleep would be a part of this i0 day X June convention sponsored by the Ameri- ' can Legion. On June 26 they returned with a clear understanding of local, county, and state government and with many new ideas which they have used to assist Hnlland High's student government.

Students Find English Stimulating Course ln English V there are mixed emotions and expressions regis- tered on the faces ln the English department, all the teachers were busy and kept their students twice as busy. ln sophomore Eng- lish classes, grammar and oral English kept the sopho- mores on their toes and prepared them for iunior Eng- lish. The iunior classes studied American literary figures such as Masters, Johnson, Frost, and many others. Though no English is required in the senior year, many of the college-bound seniors accepted the challenge offered by English literature and drama, and composition.
