Office Staff Sees Busy Year Office secretary Mrs. Betty Veeder types the morning announcements. Al- ways cheerful and considerate, Mrs. Veed- er is Holland High's receptionist and is in charge of report cards, daily attendance and student records. Counselors Mrs. Brieve, Miss Wiskamp, Mr. Connell and Mr. Borlace look over the tile of a student. Holland Public School System The Administrative Council met monthly and is responsible for the over- all operation of the school system. The council served as a co-ordination group to bring to the entire council an understanding and appreciation of the specific problems of the individual schools. The council carried out its suggested policies by their administrative report to the Board of Education. Senior High counselors, Miss Gladys Wiskamp and Mr. Robert Connell and Junior High counselors, Mrs. Brieve and Mr. Earl Borlace have had a closer contact with the students. They counsel individuals who have health or personal problems. They were also in charge of various testing programs throughout the year. Their work with helping students select and prepare for college and careers often included reference letters and iob placement. The Administrative Board regulates the policies concerning the school. Boys', GirlsTState Deleg fPut Government Knowledge toXWork 1' f ' X In June, 14 excited and anxious dele- gates left Holland eagerly anticipating their first day of Girls' State and Boys' l State. They soon found that poster making, campaigning, lectures, class sessions, noisy, hectic party Caucuses, and even a few hours sleep would be a part of this i0 day X June convention sponsored by the Ameri- ' can Legion. On June 26 they returned with a clear understanding of local, county, and state government and with many new ideas which they have used to assist Hnlland High's student government.
