Mr. Formsma, the principal of Holland High, and Mr. Scott, the Superintendent of Schools, are busy keeping the school run- ning smoothly. They have solved many problems caused by increased enrollment and limited space. Administration Efficiently Heads The administration of the Holland Public Schools was well known for the outstanding educational pro- gram they directed. The administration was led by the Board of Education, which was responsible for the total operation of the school district. The Board tried to carry out a school program that was agreeable to the citizens and that best met the educational needs of students. Working closely with the Board of Education was the Superintendent of Schools, Walter W. Scott, who carried out the policies of the Board and was re- sponsible for the entire school system. He also was in charge of the complete instructional program and busi- ness aspects of the system. A familiar person in our halls was our principal, Jay W. Formsma, who had com- plete charge of Senior High School. His work included several administrative duties, supervising the faculty, and providing a satisfactory curriculum. Dedicated trustees comprise our Board of Education. They are, front row, left to right, Mr. Hallen, Mr. Arendshorst, Mr. Donivan, Mrs. Hornbaker, Mr. Plewes, Mr. Cook.
