I I PROF HANSEN Enthusiastic, always friendly, Prof Hansen impresses everyone he meets with his win- ning personality. As a genial host to gov- ernment and economics classes in Room 103, he has won a place in our hearts. As the energetic overseer of the Senior Magazine Campaign, he has inspired class after class to go over the top. This year's Senior class showed the impact of his spirit by selling over eight thousand dollars worth of maga- zines! Our friend, teacher, and leader, we thank you .... se... M. L, . MISS CALVERT An astonished comment heard after this year's senior play was, That was a profes- sional performancel How do these high school people do it? The players them- selves know the answerg their success is due to one person, Miss Ruby Calvert, Dynamic, magnetic, and extremely enthused about her work and young people, Miss Calvert has made an outstanding record as a Speech teacher and Dramatics coach year after year. For helping us produce an outstanding Senior play and for being such a line class sponsor, we wish to thank you ..., MR. DAMSON Being a family man, Mr. Damson has an understanding of young people. As a coach, he has worked with many boys, help- ing them develop into better citizens. Active in the Magazine Campaign, he handled many of the money problems and was in- strumental in helping us smash all previous records. 'ELUID EL DY 55 Melody of '53-a nocturne of dreams and desires, a medley of happy times and busy hours. We laughed and lived to the lilting strains of music - the beating rhythm of our band marching across a football field, the ballads we waltzed to at sweater dances or formals, the hymns we sang in chapel. We cheered to the jazz of the pep band, thrilled to the overture of our play, sang to our Alma Mater with open hearts. Yes, our school life begins and ends to the serenade of music. September comes and with it the shouts of recog- nition and trills of laughter as old friends meetg the cadence of feet treading unfamiliar halls. The year flows by in a symphony of work and fun, until, unbelievably soon, seniors march down the aisle. Pomp and Circum- stance flows through the chapel into hearts reluctant yet glad. The year is gone-a fantasia of fun and fancyg four years of joy and sorrow step aside-the prelude to a new life has begun. 01
