Page Fourteen Student Council The purpose of the Student Council is to maintain Christian discipline, promote student participation and co-operation in all forms of school activities, and to give guidance in citizenship to the students of our school. ' The Student Council consists of four officers and a senator representing each homeroom. The Council was responsible for many of the activities that happened during the past year. They sponsored the Mixer, after-game socials, skating parties, assemblies, chapel exchange, financial drives, and a contest to find a suitable name for our school athletic teams and a school song. Through the Student Council, valuable training in assuming responsibilities of our democracy is received by the students. The officers were David Vander Ploeg, presidentg Dick Lenters, vice-presidentg Mar- jorie DeVries, treasurerg Ruth Bareman, secretary. The faculty adviser who devoted time and energy to the success of the Student Council this year was Mr. Holwerda.

I Q6 Footprint Staff The Footprints is published annually by the Senior class and last fall Shirley Nonhof was elected by the class to edit the 1954 edition. The various editors were chosen and then the planning began. The activities were photographed and the job of forming a dummy got under way. Under the direction of the sponsors, underclassmen's pictures were scheduled, clubs and societies had their pictures taken. Every year the Footprints is made possible partly by various firms and establishments. This was taken care of by Bill De Roo, who was business manager and headed the advertising staff. All the various editors had others helping them so the deadlines could be met and every- thing finished on time. And so the Senior class presents the 1954 Footprints.
