Page Eighteen STUDENT COUNCIL This year student council was again under the capable sponsorship of Mr. H. J. Kuiper. Student Council was organized four years ago for the purpose of maintaining Christian discipline, promote student participation in school activities, and create more co-operation between students and administration. The council was responsible for all-school skating parties, assemblies, checkroom at basketball games, bus transportation to outside games, student chapel once a week, and Turnabout Time. In the spring of each year four officers are elected from the student body. In the fall each homeroom elects its own senator. Each month we try to have one meeting during school hours, one night meeting, and an executive meeting. Here we discuss suggestions brought up by the students and problems and important issues which arise concerning the entire student body. Through the Student Council valuable training in assuming responsibilities of our democracy is received by the students. Ofiicers for this 1951-1952 school year are: President - Roger Boer Vice-president - jim Kok Secretary - Myra Brieve Treasurer - Charlotte Michielson
