BS BIA, Ed,D at School of Education WW DR. BERT P. BOS of New York University Superintendent To the Class of 1949: Hearty congratulations to each one of you upon your graduation from Holland Christian High School. Farewell students-welcome to the ranks of the Alumni Associa- tion! Four years ago graduation from high school must have seemed to be a distant dream which would never come to reality. However, the years passed swiftly and you are now on the threshold of a new phase of life. As you start out again, I would like to call your attention to a wonderful passage from God's revelation to us which is found in the sixth verse of Proverbs 3: In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct thy paths. This word of the Lord includes both a command and a promise: a command to ac- knowledge God in all our ways and a promise that He will direct our paths. First of all, we must acknowledge Him within our hearts as our Creator, our Benefactor, our Father through Christ jesus our Lord. Then we shall not find it difficult to recognize Him in all our undertakings. As young people you will have serious choices to make in life concerning your vocations, your friends and your partners for life. We must desire to do what is right and pleasing in God's sight for only that will receive the divine blessing. Of course, He does not promise that He will make us prosperous or that He will exempt us from trial and tribulation but, since He assures us that He will direct our paths, we know that all will be well. May the words of this passage from Scripture be a challenge to each one of you as you journey through this life. God bless you and keep you close to Him always. Cordially yours, BERT P. Bos, Superintendent. llll
