E, as Seniors, find it difficult to consider our annual complete this year with- out devoting a page to a man worthy of recognition. For twenty-five years Mr. Westerhof has been Holland Christian High's faithful custodian. His helpfulness and patience have endeared him to the hearts of both students and faculty. We hope that our school may continue to benefit from his work for many years to come. As a tribute to his willing and efficient service, we, the forty-niners, do express our sincere appreciation to Mr. john Westerhof. E71

4 We, as the Senior Class and student body of Holland Chris- tian High School, want to take this opportunity to bid farewell to Mrs. Bratt, who for four years has been our English instructor. During her stay at Holland Christian, she has been active in Forensics and has taken charge of the Speech Classes. In 1946 she was the able director of the junior Play. Due to her recent marriage to Mr. Hero Bratt, Miss Westveer has decided to leave us. It is the mutual feeling of all the students and teachers that we shall miss her greatly but that her influence will always remain. So it is to you, Mrs. Bratt, that we, the Class of '49, wish God's choicest blessings on your married life. As this Annual goes to press, word has been received that Mr. Keuning, our Business Math and journalism teacher, has ac- cepted the position as principal of the Fremont Christian School. It is the mutual feeling of both student body and faculty that we are sorry to see him leave, nevertheless we extend our best wishes to him and hope that he may be successful in his new field of labor. . . Miss Lucille Bouman, our office girl, will always be remembered for the hundred-and-one things she does so willingly and cheerfully each day. Mr. Dykstra deserves our sincere gratitude. It is his duty to make our school appear respectable and clean. Mr. Wm. Pott efficiently carries on his work as financial agent. It is his task to keep our school alive financially. We also express our deepest and sincere gratitude to the Eunice and Monica Aid Societies for their financial aid and valuable time which they have sacrificed for us. 1161
