A MESSAGE FROM THE SCHOOL BOARD In this Centennial year we tend to look back into the past and to draw comparisons. Christian High could not have existed a century ago, but neither would it have being today were it not for what happened then and since. We are the products of history. Dr. A. C. Van Raalte, the father of our colony, was devoted to the ideal of Christian education. That his ideal remained little more than a dream during his life time is not strange when we consider all the facts. For nearly a half century there has been a Christian School in our fair city, the realization of that dream, and from year to year it has grown stronger. Today one thousand pupils receive Christian preparation for life within its buildings, with well over one-third of them in our High School. How the pioneers would thrill to see the growth of the little school they founded! We can pay no better tribute to them than to labor persistently for the ever greater development of their ideals. May you who have the distinction of graduating in this Centennial year find reason in days to come to appreciate in ever increasing measure the rich contribution our School has made to your cultural and spiritual life.
