HOCKEY Although the hockey team had a poor record not wlnnmg a game they drd tle one and they had the satxsfactxon of playmg hard and enjoylng themselves all season Saunders was elected captam for the season Desplte much practlce we lost the first game 6 to 2 to Brewster Brewster had a more expenenced and faster skatmg club but for the first game we made a good showmg Saunders and Armrtage each made a goal on an asslst from each other After more practxce we lost our second game to KUA 3 to O Although thexr team was bngger and thelr defense was stronger the home team made a better showmg than at Brewster especnally in the second perxod We lost agam 4 to 2 when we played Proctor on the home ICC Proctor had a very alert team which was extremely fast Saunders scored both goals for us Takmg to the road agam we lost a closely contested game to New Hampton 2 to 1 1n an overtxme perxod In thls game the teams were very evenly matched and we were defimtely not outplayed Saunders made the only Holderness counter Bad weather forced the postponement of two games and when stock was taken rt was found that monthly marks had placed several players on the mehglble l1st and that a shnft nn lme up would be necessary Agam takmg on New Hampton at thelr rmk we lost another bntterly contested game 3 to 2 because of bad xce and a freak shot Determmed to avenge thexr defeat the team agam took on Proctor at the1r rmk and tled the score 1 to 1 We played a superlor game to Proctor but condxtlons made xt any man s game Bennett got our only goal on an asslst from Sanderson A s1x mmute overtlme was played ln wh1ch the score was not changed ThlS was the only game ln WhlCh we really recelved a number of penaltles Although the team wxll lose three first team men through graduatron there w1ll still be eleven left on wh1ch to buxld next years squad We hope that next years team w11l have as much fun but more success A' a Q s ' s ' Y , , . , . . ., . 1 Y ' , Y ' 1 7 7 ' Q , l - a , . . . . . , , . . , , . .vi 1, W ' K ' ' .
