The class of '54 began their senior year by electing Vernon Robinson, president, Don Page, vice-president, and Iohn Mur- phy, secretary-treasurer to head their class. The sponsors elected were Miss Christene Provence and Mrs. Tim Hamilton. lohn George, Iirnmie Ramsey, Iohnny Treat and Doe McRay were elected student council representatives. Also, this years Student Council officers were all seniors. The senior rings were ordered at the beginning of the year and the trip destination, Rockaway Beach, Missouri, was chosen. Raising rnoney for the senior trip was the rnain pro- ject of the year. The senior play presented was Professor, How Could You! Members of the class were very active in all the clubs and organizations of the school. Honors bestowed on the senior class were football, FFA and annual queen, annual king, can- didates for carnival queen and FHA king and attendants for basketball and football queen. The class selected Mrs. lda Lee Cook and Mrs. Iohnnie Foote as sponsors to supervise their year's activities. 9' QE ,... Af XXX ' Shortly after class officers were elected the juniors elected tour Student Council mombersg Lyn Maddox, Suzanne Bartlett, Sara Smith and Bob Denney. The main project for the junior year was to get enough money to serve the junior-Senior Ban- quet, which was held the last ot May. Money-making projects during the year were: serving the Quarterback Banquet, sponsoring two picture movies, one bake sale, and presenting the Iunior Play, lt's A Date . The FHA elected Doris lean Burkett as their president tor the year. The basketball queen, Ioy LaValley, and one ot her attendants, Paula Sue Kennerly, were both iuniOrS. Fourteen members from the lunior Class were on the State Honor Society for 1953-54. Richard Shuf- ley, lim Crittendon, Coach lohn McKay. The 1954 HHS football team finished the season with a most successful record. The team won six and lost four games. The Holdenville team placed third in the Sooner Star Conference. Other members of the conference are Wewoka, Ada, Henryetta and McAlester. HHH contributed six boys from the gridiron sport to the All-Conference team. The boys were Doe McRay, Wallace Holt, Robert Vail, Vernon Robinson, Iohnny George and Paul Branum. Doe McRay also made the Tulsa World All-State team. Boyd McGuga:n, coach, and his assistant, Iohn McKay, did a good job coaching and getting the team into shape.
