D oris Jean McLanahan The members of the Band have been busy this year under the direction Mr. John Kammeyer. They performed at several home games during the football season. The Band played several numbers at the Second Annual Musical Benefit Show in the High School Auditor- ' ium on February 15, 1955. They attended High School Band Day at Columbia on October 16. The Band participated at several football games in Warrensburg. On March 18 the Band participated in the Music Festival held here in Holden. Con- structive criticism was given to all bands participating. The Ban-d and its members received the following ratings at the District Contests at Central Missouri State College at Warrrensburg: I Ratinge-Baton Twirling, Doris Jean McLanahan. II Ratings-Clarinet Solo, Mary Jo Hamptong Baton Twirling, Pat Clements, Clar- inet Quartet, composed of Mary Ann Musser, Beverly Houx, Mary Jo Hampton, and Harold Johnson: Clarinet Trio, composed of Mary Ann Musser, Beverly Houx and Mary Jo Hampton: and the Band. III Ratings--Clarinet Solo, Beverly Houx.

In beautiful formals and under colored lights, the club presented several numbers in the Second Annual Musical Benefit Show February 15, 1955. The Glee Club participaaed in the W'est Central Music Contest held here at Holden :ind the District Music Contest held at Central Missouri State College at Warrensburg. Those who received I ratings at the District Contest were: Peggy Jane Fisher, piano: solo: Kay Lewis, piano solo. The II ratings were received by: Myrna Daugherty, vocal solo, Girls' Sextetg and the tllcc Club.
