Rishel In this play the audience took an integral part in its development and conclusion. The jury, selected from the audience, was given the problem of deciding the guilt or innocence of Karen Andre who is on trial for the murder of Bjorn Faulkner. The plot is thickened when a gangster friend of Karen's tells that the death was faked in order that Karen, Faulkner, and the gangster could go to South America and live in lux- ury on the fortune that Faulkner had established there. After two performances, Karen Andre was found both guilty and not guilty of the murder. Cast Prison Matron .. .... . . Bailiff ............... Judge Heath ............ District Attorney Flint .... While discussing their sons in the war, Mr. Willings, the clergyman, arrives with news that Mrs. Dowey's son is outside. The old lady is surprised and terrified since she really does not have a son. She asks everyone to leave before ushering the young man in Kenneth Dowey enters and scowls at the old lady. He seizes the letters from her hand and unties the string around them. He discovers they contain only blank paper and demands an explanation. It was everybody's war but mine, mister, she said, and I wanted it to be mine too . She confesses that she saw his name in the paper and picked the envelopes out of waste-paper baskets and changed the addresses.
