Chapter I is a federally funded program designed to provide students with extra educational help in the areas of reading and math. This program provides seventh through twelfth grade stu- dents with supplementary help in reading and students in grades nine through twelve with supplementary help in math. The small group learning sessions in Chapter I help the students | a n-rr r) ■ develop confidence and useful learning strategies which can I l l I C. lx I be applied in their classrooms. MRS. PHYLLIS LEWIS READING Books must be read as deliberately and reservedly as they are written. Thoreau MRS. JOAN SHIRLEY MATH Mathematics is the science which draws necessary conclusions. Peirce SPECIAL EDUCATION The primary goal of the special needs department is to assist students in achieving to the maximum of their potential. Students are offered services ranging from self-contained classes to academic tutoring. The students serviced are determined through the evaluation process established by Chapter 766 and PL 94-142.
