I MR. JEROME WALSH DEDICATION Over the past four years, the Class of 1 984 has come to admire and respect a very special member of the English Department, Mr. Jerome Walsh. At first he appears harsh and strict, but underneath that rough exterior lies a very warm, gentle, sensitive man. He retains certain charac- teristics which set him apart from the rest: his abil ity to say very little yet vividly express his opinion, his bah hum- bug attitude about Christmas because of its commercial- ism, his refusal to allow his picture in the yearbook and yet his joy at seeing the student ' s enthusiasm when they receive their book, and his knowledge of trivial subjects in detail. He has enriched our lives in more ways than we could ever recount, so in appreciation we are dedicating the 1984 Echo to Mr. Jerome Walsh. 2
