AND MRS. ROBERT N. KINDELAN DO YOU REMEMBER THE TIMES OF YOUR LIFE? DEDICATION MISS SUSAN DUNNIGAN During the past four years the Class of 1 980 has come to know and to respect a very special member of the faculty, Miss Susan Dunnigan. Even though she has her cranky moods and doesn ' t want any ugly pictures in the yearbook, she is a very warm and sensitive person. She has made our high school years that much more enjoyable. Sue is more than just a class advisor; she is also a special friend. She is a leader in every way, yet she gives us a chance to lead and to express our own opinions. Whenever we run into any obstacles, she is always there to help us out. So, the Class of 1980, is getting their way again! With all our love and appreciation we are dedicating the 1980 Echo to you, Miss Dunnigan, our class advisor and friend. THANK YOU We would like to thank Mrs. Elizabeth Hartshorn for her dedicated service over the past years to the faculty and student body of Holbrook High School. We are sorry to see her leave us, but we wish her much success and happiness in whatever may lie in her future. Everyone knows what the yearbook is, but many do not realize the effort that goes into it. It ' s more than just pictures of all the fun times we ' ve shared. It ' s a year long process of hard and often discourag- ing work. It ' s proofreading and proofreading again until all the errors are found. At this time we would like to call attention to a very special lady. Even though she has been unable to put in quite as many hours as in previous years, she has succeeded in doing the same amount of work. She has kept us going with her high spirits so that we could pro- duce an enjoyable yearbook. So as you reminisce with this year ' s ECHO, keep in mind the heart that went into it. The ECHO Staff of 1 980, with love and appreciation, would like to dedicate this page to Mrs. Grace Kindelan. The five finalists, Lori Stevelman, Margaret Cummings, Kathleen Riccio, Robin Mackie, and Carol Maynard stood patiently to hear who would be crowned Homecoming Queen of 1 979. Last year ' s queen, Lisa Clement, proudly gave her title to Lori Stevelman. Each girl received a beautiful arrangement of flowers, af- terwhich they were taken for the traditional ride around the football field. At the conclu- sion of the game, refreshments were served for everyone. 49 mm I FOOTBALL ROW 1 : C. Potcner, G. McGaughey, D. Solomon, G. Goulski, Co-Captain; ). Salerno, Co- Captain; J. The group which includes not only musicians but also dancerettes, color guards, and majorettes supports the football team and performs a half time show at all the games. The band also competes in variouscompetitions and parades. Thisyear the band came in second in Class B of The Annual Christmas Concert held in Quincy. The majorettes came in 1st and Patty MacWilliams came in 2nd for drum major. The band under the direction of Mr. Myers does several concerts each year. This year an Exchange Concert with a Vermont band was one of the highlights of the year. 71 f :• ECHO STAFF 1980 EDITOR-IN-CHIEF Martha Cullen LAYOUT EDITOR Dot Muscara STAFF )eanne Anderson Gary Fisher Diane Ming TYPING EDITOR Marilyn McGinn STAFF Marie Jackman Carol Joyce Elaine Perry Judy Smith Ricky Levin BUSINESS EDITOR Linda Spathanas STAFF Paul Dowd John Eklund Mary Palma LITERARY EDITOR Cindy Hernandez STAFF Lisa Bosworth Michelle McSweeney Kathy Riccio Debbie Rielly Karen Wood ADVISORS Mrs. Grace O. The gym was decorated in a beautiful springtime setting with numerous multi-colored flowers, two cherub fountains flowing with sparkling blue water, and an ele- gant white gazebo which was constructed especially for the King and Queen. Everyone danced to the theme song “We ' ve Cot Tonight by Bob Seger under a ceiling of blue with a multitude of white and silver stars and a large crystal ball rotating in the center. The Prom this year unlikeothers in the pastdid not end by going toa restaurant, but had a buffet that was served after the King, Bob DeMarco and Queen, Lisa Macdermott were chosen. 100 tpm POWDER PUFF m y % : 7 iP 104 MOST ARTISTIC Pat Rossman Martha Cullen SENIOR SUPERLATIVES MOST TALKATIVE John Salerno Dorothy Walker 106 BEST DRESSED Kevin Mizell Robin Freedman CLASS FLIRTS Derek Frazier Lynne Ryan MOST ATHLETIC Judy Smith Dean Solomon — not pictured MOST BASHFUL Paul Leuchte Michelle Hook 107 5 CLASS CLOWNS )udy Smith John Berneberg — not pictured.
