DEDICATION Many people think that one ' s high school years are the most important years. It is during these years we learn responsibility, cooperation, communication, and many other aspects of life. We, the class of 1978, have been lucky to share this part of our lives with a man who has given so much of himself to help us to learn these things. He has supported our class in more ways than anyone could ever realize. Being class advisor in itself is a difficult job. It re- quires leadership, perseverance, understanding, and patience. These are a few of the virtues found in our class advisor. We as a class, with patience and understanding, have learned to appreciate these virtues and have learned to live with and accept his unusual sense of humor over the four years. So, we would like to thank Mr. Greene for his time and energies with a dedica- tion well deserved. We devote this year ' s Echo to him in honor of a friendship and in return for his efforts. I t: 16

A MESSAGE FROM OUR SUPERINTENDENT To the Graduating Class of 1978: As these pages unfold for the first time and as they open to us in future years; it is my sincere hope that your thoughts and memories of Holbrook High School will inspire you to continue a spirit of inquiry throughout your lifetime. It is vital that you achieve your own synthesis of ideas and insights by selecting, sifting, and weighing impressions and convictions obtained from first-hand experience, extensive reading, interaction with master teachers, and a sharing of thoughts and information with your parents, fellow students, and many other persons. Please remember that all of us learn from each other. In my first months of service as your Superintendent of Schools, I perceive that Holbrook is a very special place indeed. There is an ever developing and increasing sense of community here that is very encouraging in a society that is sometimes intensely impersonal. Holbrook is not just another subur- ban community with an element of sameness, it is a place with many different styles of life and many different values. It is a place where I sense that people respect each other and grant each other the right of free expression which is so important in a truly democratic society. May I offer warm congratulations to you as members of the graduating class of 1 978 and may I also express the very same sentiment to your parents and guardians who have been a key factor in your efforts. I would like to express warm gratitude to the Holbrook School Committee, to the various Town Committees and to the citizens of the community in their support of public education as well.
