Text from Pages 1 - 132 of the 1971 volume:

THE 1971 ECHO TABLE OF CONTENTS There are few people who give of themselves openly, freely, and totally to any cause. A person such as this instills in others the enthusiasm that creates a sense of unity. The Class of ’71 has been singularly fortunate in knowing a person such as this. This person has not stood in front of us and led, but rather, has stood beside and worked with us. The energy, patience, and hard work of this person has helped make it possible for our class to successfully fulfill its objec- tives. It is because of this that we, the Class of ’71, and the Echo staff, feel greatly indebted. Despite our grief, dismay, and disappointment when we failed, our class looks back with pride at the successes, such as our Christmas Cotillion and Junior Prom. It is for these rea- sons that the students of Holbrook High School, the Echo staff, and, especially, the Class of ’71 dedicate, with pride, the 1971 Echo to Miss Marianne Senese. Dedication 5 The experiences encountered create a spirit which encompasses at Holbrook High The memories of lingering friendships, scholastic achievement, social recognition, meaningful to be forgotten. and athletic honors are far too MR FRANCIS FITZGERALD Superintendent MR. EDWARD COLMAN Assistant Superintendent A Message From Our Principal MR. WILLIAM T. BUCKLEY Principal May I extend to each member of the graduating class my personal congratulations upon the completion of his high school career. May I also wish that you will be successful in the fulfillment of your future desires, whatever they may be. We at Holbrook High School, sincerely hope that we have given you the base from which you may go forward to the successful realiza- tion of those plans. For you, the future is bright, though partially hidden from your sight. What success you will have will depend largely on how you use those native abilities which have been nur- tured during your days at Holbrook High. Keep dreaming of lofty goals; keep working diligently towards those goals. If you do, you, and mankind in general, will be better for your efforts. If at any time in the future, we can be of assistance to you, please remember that all of us stand ready to help in any way. We ask only that you work to the best of your ability in whatever endeavors you may undertake. It has been a pleasure for me to have served as your principal and to have worked with you during these past four years.
