HOLBROOK HIGH SCHOOL HOLBROOK, MASSACHUSETTS THE 1970 ECHO GRATITUDE We, the Echo Staff of 1970, wish to express our appreciation to our advisors, Mr. Thomas Young, Mr. Joseph O’Neill, and Mr. Thomas Haver, for their continual help and guidance in building this book. We would also like to extend our gratitude to the Keller Publishing Company and Dodge-Murphy Photographers. 2 TABLE OF CONTENTS FACULTY 10 ACTIVITIES 26 SPORTS 36 UNDERCLASSMEN 54 SENIORS 66 EDITOR-IN-CHIEF LITERARY ART BUSINESS TYPING ADVISORS APRIL BARGOUT CHARLES SCHEIM SUSAN CONNORS LAUREN FOX ANNE GODFREY MR. THOMAS YOUNG MR. JOSEPH O’NEILL MR. THOMAS HAVER DEDICATION When one thinks of a truly conscientious man, there is only one person that comes into mind. He has dedicated his time and effort toward making the class of 1970 a happy and prosperous one with our many activities, including the Junior Prom. Also, we must not forget all the hours put into the Echo — especially this year — and the worries — meeting our deadlines and trying to publish a really outstanding book to remember our experiences at H.H.S. Yes, for certain, we, the ECHO Staff, have worn a path walking in and out of room 203. Therefore, it is with deep respect, appreciation and affection, that we, the class of 1970 and the ECHO Staff— especially its Senior members — dedicate this yearbook to Mr. Thomas K. Young. 4 5 MEETING NEW FRIENDS, HAVING NEW EXPERIENCES, r 6 A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL It is my pleasure to extend to the Class of 1970 my person- al congratulations and those of the faculty as you success- fully complete your four years at Holbrook High School. These past four years have passed quickly, all too quickly as you will soon realize. During these years, this school has tried to prepare you for the future. What a tremendous future it is! Twice in your senior year, men have landed on the moon, and you have seen it happen, a feat about which men of past generations could only dream. You now stand on the threshold of that glorious future. What you accom- plish depends largely on you. We have tried to give you the base on which to build. How well we have succeeded will be known only in that future. Although your four years with us is now at an end, should the need arise, please remember that the doors of Holbrook High are always open to help you in any way possible. In return for whatever we have given to you, we ask only that wherever you are, whatever your endeavors, you work to the best of your ability, so that you will always be a credit to your parents, to your school, and to your commu- nity. No more can we ask, no more can you give. MR. WILLIAM T. BUCKLEY Principal MR. EDWARD COLMAN Assistant Superintendent MR. FRANCIS FITZGERALD Superintendent FACULTY MISS NANCY L. THOMAS Languages MRS.
