The Echo is the yearbook of the student body of Holbrook High School. It is a pictorial record of the 1966-1967 scholastic year. Our thoughts, words, and deeds of that year are now history. Echo has captured some of our moods and madnesses and has glimpsed our academic, athletic, and social activities. This book could not have been successfully published without the work of innumerable dedicated and persevering people. The Echo staff would especially like to thank our advisors: Mr. Robert Kindelan, Mr. Jerome Walsh, and Mr. Irwin Cohen. 1 he value of their guidance and assistance is immeasurable. Also we would like to thank the anon- ymous persons who did the many little but vital things to assist us in this publication. 4

A MESSAGE EROM THE SENIOR CLASS PRESIDENT SEXIOR CLASS PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE Dare nothing, gain nothing,” the motto ’hich has piloted the class of 1967 through its tour years at Holbrook High School, symbolizes the aggressiveness with which we shall attack the future. This motto points out the daring at- titude with tvhich we undertook so many of our social and academic activities. The final out- come of these undertakings has been success. By living this motto we have acquired a unique in- dividuality which has helped us mature into well-rounded, well-prepared future citizens. The time is now drawing near when our high school days will be over and we shall venture forth to take our parts in the cast of performers acting upon the stage of life. Before we move on, let us return once more to the rapidly fad- ing past. We have gained a great deal from our experi- ences at Holbrook High School. We have learned to recognize our own talents and our own restrictions. We have, through the contri- butions of many, had our characters molded. We have gro vn to be on the threshold of re- sponsible adulthood. I know I speak for the entire class when I ex- tend to the administration, to the faculty, and to the friends of Holbrook High School who have been the backbone and inspiration of our success, our most sincere and heartfelt thanks. We can only hope that we make you proud. We, the class of 1967, would like especially to thank Miss Driscoll and Mr. O’Reilly for- the unselfishness with which they gave their time, their knowledge, their energy and their guid- ance to our undertakings. To them we owe much. We shall always appreciate their efforts and go forth remembering, ‘‘Dare nothing, gain nothing.” 6
