ORIENTAL AYSTSR ' In a mist of Oriental intrigue, the Class of 1961 held its Junior Prom, Oriental Mystery,” on Fri- da) evening, May 6, 1960. Gil Wilder and his orchestra provided music for the dancers as they whirled around the tloor. Decorations of red and black streamers, a large dragon, and a Chinese pagoda depicted the Oriental theme. Miniature dancing dolls were given as favors to all girls and were distributed during the Grand March. Thomas Holloway, class president, and his guest, Janet Holbrook, led the Grand March. They were followed by the remaining class offi- cers and their escorts. The rest of the class mem- bers and their guests then followed. The highlight of the evening was the long awaited selection and crowning of the king, queen, and two princesses. These were selected by a board of impartial judges and were judged for their poise, appearance, and personality. Michael Koski and Geraldine Cassani were se- lected as the king and queen, and Gail Benvie and Charlotte Geletka were the princesses. 4 “The king and queen are crowned.” The Grand March. 28
