Dad’s Dinner: Dinin’-n-Dancin’ On November 24, 1986, Hockaday fathers and daughters gathered at 5:30 p.m. in the foyer for Dad’s Dinner. Dressed in their best, the couples began their evening with pictures in Tarry House and then proceeded to the dining room for a buffet-style dinner. Immediately following dinner, Dr. Don Jackson made a brief speech and the Hockaday Small Ensemble performed a medley of different songs. Once this e nded, everyone ad- journed to the colorfully decorated small gym and danced with their fathers to the rocking music of a local disc jockey. On December 13, the dining room was transformed into Santa’s workshop for the 1986 Christmas Formal. The sponsors of the event were the Student Council, the House Council, the Athletic Board, and the Fine Arts Board who all worked diligently to make the evening such a success. Danc- ing to the music of Life’s Eyes, the guests enjoyed a magical ‘‘Night at the North Pole”’ that they will remember for years to come. (Above) What festive decorations!
