Seniors — The Sky’ s the Limit For this year’s seniors, the first weekend of school proved to be an exciting trek into the wilderness at Sky Ranch. From canoe- ing on the lake to late night gossip, the seniors relived their memories of past years at Hockaday. To accomplish future hopes and goals for 1986-1987, they found a sense of unity held together by that common bond of friendship to be an essen- tial element. At the retreat, officers were elected and goals were put forth (especially those of senior privileges). Aside from business, these seniors learned to work together as a whole and came to the con- clusion that “‘nothing can stop us now!”’ f . Dm. (Above): Seniors enjoy a delicious ‘“‘Sky Ranch” meal. As the summer drew to an end, the Hocka- day Upper School Welcoming Committee began preparing for the back-to-school crowd. New bulletin boards and ‘‘Welcome to School” signs filled the hall for the arrival of boarders and new students on Orientation Day. The first day of school brought the usual chaos and excitement that accompanies this busy time of the year. Once again the halls teemed with the sound of anxious voices, the banging of lockers and the obnoxious five- minute bells. Trustees: Students for a Day School, only once a year?!! [979% Bak Sy Td Maybe for the trustees but not for us. Attending classes and meeting the students, the trustees got a taste of Hockaday life and of the hubub around the campus. this year. After a day at Hockaday, the trustees emerged with expressions of smiles and relief — smiles that hopefully Hockaday prompted and relief that at least they don’t have any homework. pas (Above): Mrs. Dealy is always willing to help.
