Head of Lower School: Marion Crume Mrs. Marion Crume is the multi-faceted leader of grades preschool through fourth. She deals with the day-to-day logistics of running her divi- sion of l-lockaday. She also coordinates the Lower School faculty and serves as a sounding board for parents. Above all, she shows a concern for each individual student, and she is pleased to see the girls develop as they go through Lower School. This year, Mrs. Crume says, is a year of refine- ment in the Lower School as this is its second year in the Ashley Priddy building. She wants to focus on improving the Lower School program and to offer each girl more than just the three R's. She would like to assess the needs of each individual student and try to meet her special needs. Mrs. Crume came to Hockaday as a second grade teacher. She only wanted to teach for one year, but became addicted to teaching. She has been at Hockaday ever since. Her experience in the classroom has made her a leader who understands the problems that students, teachers, and parents have, and she empathizes with them. But, she also can apply her first-hand knowledge to situations that arise. Mrs. Crume is a most dedicated head of the Lower School and a valuable friend to l-lockaday. 'fav fir L-and 30 Faculty 'it
