Building Up . . . Integrity The establishment of an Honor Code this year at Hockaday has been a welcomed and positive addition. The Honor Council, a conciliatory and investigator)- body, is made up of a Senior chairman, plus one representative from each of the tour forms. The council is headed by Mr. Thomas Walker. Upon a violation of the Honor Code, the council hears the sides of both the accuser and the ac- cused. It then makes a confidential recommendation to the disciplinary committee where a final decision is reached. The purpose ot the code is to make girls more aware of potential temptations which could lead to viola- tions of their integrity. The words of the Honor Code I pledge ... are signed at the bottom of major tests and compositions to serve as a reminder to students ot their responsibility to their integrity.

Building Up . . . The Crow Science Center The Crow Science Center, a 2.5 million dollar venture given by Mr. and Mrs. Trammell Crow and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Billingsly, is the newest addition to The Hockaday School. This modern three-story building, finished in late September, houses classrooms and labs for physical and earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, plus a variety of more advanced sciences. In addition, a greenhouse, a telescopic observation deck, and an extensive computer center are located on the third floor. A portion of the first floor houses The Clements Lecture Hall. Texas Governor William P. Clements donated the hall in honor of his wife, Rita Crocker Clements, a 1949 Hockaday graduate. With a 180 person capacity, it has proven very useful for lectures, meetings, and demonstrations throughout this past year. niE SCIENCE CEKll MR.. 8 MR.S. TR.AMMEL1 Cli UR.. 3 MRS. HENRY Bll

Building Up . . . Friendships What can be said about friendship that has not been shown in a hug or a kind word or deed of a Hockaday girl? Although friendship is not one of the four Hockaday Cornerstones, it is ever present in all aspects of Hockaday life. Lasting friendships prove to be a major part of the Hockaday experience. The limited size of the forms creates a bond which lasts far beyond the years at Hockaday.
