Dedication As the last class to graduate from the old campus of Hockaday, we dedicate this edition of The Cornerstones to the tradition, beauty, and wonderful memories close to the hearts of every girl who has walked along the brick path leading to her gradu- ation under the cool, nostalgia-inspiring pergola. We and those who have gone before us will surely never forget the graceful sweep of the acres of thick grass on which we have frolicked and shouted in days gone by; the relaxing atmosphere of Morgan Hall, through whose halls we have so often walked to classes; the radiant bursting into bloom of every living thing in the springtime, in seeming preparation for the day of culmination of all our efforts through the past years, surrounding the area of the pergola with luxuriant, fragrant blossoms and richly robed trees; but most of all, we shall remember the irrepressible, beautiful traditions which have made Hockaday the school which we will be so sorry to leave, the school which, although changing its location will, we all hope, retain its aura of high standards, tich culture, and moral and spiritual inspirations to every girl who passes through its gates. But we feel that the graceful tradition instilled by Miss Hockaday can never fully be recaptured when the memory-permeated grounds of our old Hockaday no longer ring with the laughter, | merry chatter, and friendship-filled camaraderie of the girls who have loved and will miss so much the lo nely reminders of what has been. The Class of 1961
