But this is only Jane’s outer self, for upon closer acquaintance, as most boarders can verify, Jane has an inner liveliness and subtle wit which, although laugh- inspiring, never hurts the feelings of those around her. This quality, along with the quiet determina- tion with which she pursues her course, has made those of her class who know her well look to her as a Close friend, one upon whom they can depend in any extremity. In addition, small but energetic Jane has proved to be a great asset on the all-school basketball team. This is one gitl who, with her gray, candid eyes and pale blond hair, will be sorely missed next year.

This attractive girl from Arkansas is a necessity, with her clear, rich voice, to any songfest in Junior or in the houses. As well as possessing wit, charm, and an irresistible Arkansas accent, Beth is an excellent writer, and does well in all subjective fields. She possesses keen observance and a superior ability in expressing her- self, orally as well as literally. Her classmates love her, her teachers respect her, and those of us who have known her best will never forget her.
