Sv. ,sf Il IA L ' 4 A 1 'X' X! 6 X ,I 6lae4Wc4!ofuf In September, l95A, three scared llttle glrls and slx scared boys entered Hobson Hlgh as freshmen These glrls were Carol Gore, Donna Ph1ll1ps and Dolores Neslng The 31X boys were Robert Ward, Wesley Stevenson, Larry Hanlln, Dlck Relmers, Tom Swanz and Jake Korell At the1r flrst class meetlng they elected offlcers w1th the help of thelr sponsor, Mrs Knlght Tom was elected presldent, Dlck, v1ce presldent, Carol, secretary treasurer, and Bob, student COunC1l representatlve After thelr 1n1t1at1on by the sophomores, Mr Corbett, the superlntendent, helped the n1ne freshmen through thelr f1PSt year ln hlgh, 1n whlch Jake and Tom both made the football team Dlck and Tom made the basketball team, and both became members of the lettermen's club Thls year Carol found her way 1nto the play 'In The Shadows ' Carol, Dolores and Donna all sang ln the glee club Carol and Donna played 1D the band In the fall of 1955 seven of the n1ne freshmen only thls tlme they were sophomores The class was sad to Hanl1n's desks remalnlng empty, but ln the mlddle of the Cal1forn1a, enrolled ln Hobson Hlgh and fllled one of these enrolled agaln 1H Hobson Hlgh, flnd Dolores Nes1ng's and Larry year Ray Wood, from San Delgo, empty desks, maklng the enroll ment of elght 1n the sophomore class The flrst of the year started out slmllar to the prevlous year, except they weren't scared anymore and were lOOk1ng forward to gettlng even w1th the world by 1n1t1at1ng the new freshmen Thls year agaln they elected offlcers wlth Mr Gore as the class sponsor Jake, Dlck, Carol and Bob were elected Jake was a member of the paper staff, Dlck, Donna and Carol were all members of the mlxed chorus Bob and Carol were lH the three one act plays D1ck, Jake and Tom played on the football team and Tom, Dlck, Jake and Bob were on the Basketball team Thls year Bob, Tom, Dick, and Jake were all members of the lettermen's club Then Urayear 1956 57 rolled around and all elght of theclass At the end of the flrst quarter Beverly Fbtterffrom Hllger enrolled ln agaln the sponsor and Jake, Tom, Donna and D1ck were elected as class llghts of the JUn10P year were the Junlor Prom w1th Blue HBWH11 a enrolled as JuHlOPS the Hobson Hlgh from 0ff1CePS The hlgh s the theme, Jake and I .I . ' . the Fergus County High, making the enrollment of nine in the junior class.
