W. In September 1953, fourteen eager freshmen entered the doors of Hobson High School. The members were Kate Ward, Nancy Miller, Benita Steel, Roberta Stout, Mable Nesing, Patte Luhm, Wanda Somers, Betty Winn, Mary Sue Matzinger, Jerry McGuire, George Keating, Jim McCollum, Melvin Taurman, and Don Waite. After going through the trials of initiation, everyone settled down to studying and attending activities of Hobson High. Officers were elected as follows: Jerry McGuire, President: Don Waite, Vice President, Betty Winn, Secretary-Treasurer: and Roberta Stout, Stu- dent Council Representative. Our sponsor was Mrs. Lillian Rosman. Our Sophomore year we lost Jim McCollum and class officers were President, Jerry McGuire, Vice President, Don Waite: Secretary-Treasurer, Betty Winn, Student Coun- cil Representative, Wanda Somers. Our sponsor was Glenn Gore.
