HISTORY OF THE CLASS OF 1956 In the September of a blustery 1952, nlne sheeplsh freshmen walked quletly 1nto Hobson Hlgh to add to 1ts membershlp These frosh were: Bob Nesing, Bob Boyd, Mable Neslng, Gayle Swanz, Shlrley Spratt, Barnett Stout, Deloris Bradlng, Lawrence Moseley, and Jun McCollum The offlcers for th1s f1rst year were Harriett Stout, Presldent, Bob Boyd, V1ce Presldent, and Gayle Swanz, Secretary Treasurer, w1th Mrs Eastlick as their sponsor They survived the 1n1t1at1on glven them by the Sophomores to struggle through the year to become ellgible to 1.n1t1ate the next class of frosh he school year 1953 Ch rolled around, they found that Mable Nes1ng and Jim McCollum were absent from the roll, but also found that G1nger Corey and Lyle Fulbrlght had registered as Sophomores to leave the total at n:Lne Offlcers for the year were as follows Bob Boyd, President, Shirley Spratt, V169 President, and Gale Swanz, Secretary Treasurer As Junlors, the class received J1m Francisco , who was fresh out of Deer Lodge and Denton Also , Lawrence Moseley left and the class total remalned at nine The Junlors this year had a very successful Prom whlch had as its theme, In An Old Fashioned Garden Bob Boyd was re elected Presldent, Jim Franclsco as V1ce Presldent, and Gayle Swanz remalned thelr Snonsor The b1g and flnal year of 1955 S6 came lnto vlew and the Senlors were Leellng reluctant to leave dear old Hobson Hlgh School This became thelr blggest and best year of all as the number 1n the class was reduced to eight with the loss of Harrlett Stout As Senlors they elected Bob Boyd, Presldent, Ginger Corey, Vlce-Presldent, and Gayle Swanz remalned in her fourth year as Secretary Treasurer These eight mighty Senlors took an extenslve trlp ln the first part of May through the slghts of Montana They stopped at Flat Head Lake Lodge for a rest before returning to Hobson They were honored at Baccalaureate at the Methodlst Church and also at the Junlor Senior banquet at the hotel To fmd out what happens to these Senlors refer to the prophecy on page ll fd ,-digg Sponsored by Coast to Coast Stores Bowles Jewelry IZ As t -, ' ' D ll their Secretazy-Treasurer.
