Earl Woods the coffeemaker was pilot, Roy Jordan, the paper boy was co-pilot, Jennie Johnson, the maid was in charge of the expedition. We finally got the plane in the air with some difficulty but I can’t understand the difficulty because we have a very experienced crew. Tollie Lee and Ladon Dickerson, the navigators were on the right wing checking our position by sundial. Colleen Dickerson and Cynthia Dowling are practicing basketball on the other wing while Louise Jones and Jerry Saunders, the very calm stewardess and steward are constantly yelling with fright, while Ronnie Carter and Dorothy Brannon turn somersaults in the aisle. Douglas Prescott and Trudy Altman are very quiet; one is looking at her finger and the other is entertaining a thumb. Gene Williams and Marie Mercer are trying to unbolt one of the seats so that they can solve the seating problem. Henry Aldridge and Carolyn Sapp the window-washers are outside washing windows. They are having difficulties putting the water on the windows because there is a slight breeze blowing. Vance Carter and Hubert Pearson, the two scientists of the expedition are trying to remove one of the wings to form an analysis of what it contains. Stanley Aldridge and Barbara Shepard, the two millionaires aboard are trying to get Gilbert Altman and Pearl Edwards to dig a built-in swimming pool in the middle of the plane so they can feel at home. By this time we had been traveling about three hours and Roy Griffin and Evon Lee who were hanging on the wheel trying to unstick the landing gear, reported that they could see nothing beneath us. At which time we checked with the sundial specialists and they reported we were headed straight for the Sun. Mary Ellen Hagen and Richard Rowell the two lovers aboard, who were operating the radio were finding out the radio wasn’t very lovable. Upon learning that we were heading for the sun we tried to change our course which we succeeded in doing, but we were forced to land on the planet, Pluto. When we landed we found Marvin Kimbrell, Betty Jacobs, Wanda Griffin, and Carol Hagin stranded there by unknown circum- stances. We then repaired our radio and sent an S.O.S. to the earth for help. Soon afterwards, Roy Stone, Myrtice Hickox and Myra Jane Lee, who had been late and left behind, arrived in another plane, which we boarded and went on to our destination. Always aim at a high goal but don’t be like us and aim too high or you will miss your goal. CLASS HISTORY of I960 On September 2, 1948 we walked into the school building for the first time as students. Some of us were frightened and cried; others were happy and eager to learn what school was all about. Our first years of school were spent learning the fundamentals; reading, writing, and arithmetic. We thought we were almost grown and had reached a turning point in our lives when we were allowed to change classes in the ninth grade. We soon found out that high school meant changing classes, dues, six full subjects, rules, several teachers and one ten-minute recess. In the tenth grade we had to consider ourselves as one big family. We had little recreation to brighten the school term at Christmas; we had a party in the cafeteria and all had a delightful time. Last year, the fun really began when we had our Junior Play, Who Killed Aunt Caroline.” Then came the Junior-Senior Banquet, later the ordering of our rings. All this was fun but work went along with it. At last on August 31 of 1959 we enrolled for the last time at Hoboken High. We were proud of our title Seniors”. Shortly after school began, we received our class rings. We held our hands so everyone could notice our rings but after the new wore off they became a part of our daily attire. Our most remarkable activity was our Senior Play, “The Red-Headed Stepchild.” Our ploy and various other activities contributed to our bank-roll making it possible for a class trip. We have looked forward to graduating ever since we entered school. We have wanted the time to pass faster but now that we have reached the end we want it to slow down. We have had our quarrels and troubles but these are soon forgotten when we recall all our good times. As this year comes to an end we wish to take time to express our gratitude to our teachers, who have contributed to the success of our school lives; to our parents, who have guided us and to the underclassmen, who have given us encouragement and support. All 34 of us, the Seniors of 1960 will go forward into this world seeking happiness and success for our future lives.
